Fine Particles
Monitoring particulate matter is crucial to prevent these tiny particles from reaching deep into the lungs, and damage your body. Examples include wood dust, soldering fumes, ceramics dust.
Gases
Too much indoor CO2, from poor ventilation, can slow thinking. Better airing helps everyone think and perform better. VOCs are chemicals from things like paint that turn into gas at room temperature.
Environment
Temperature and humidity levels can affect your comfort. Often too cold or too warm environments can affect your ability to focus.

See inside
Every component in ambient one is chosen for precision and longevity. And because we believe in products that last, the entire device can be easily disassembled and reassembled — so you can repair, upgrade, or replace parts yourself.

Swiss precision sensors
Our Swiss made sensors include pm, co2, voc, nox, temperate and humidity - with great range and accuracy. That's done with a combination of 3 different techniques.
Commonly used for detecting gases like CO2, VOCs, and NOx. They work by measuring changes in electrical resistance when the target gas interacts with the sensor's surface.
Used for particulate matter (PM) sensors, where a laser beam is directed at the particles in the air. The amount of light scattered is measured to determine their size and concentration.
Non-Dispersive Infrared sensors are used for gases like CO2. They measure the absorption of infrared light by gas molecules, which causes a change in pressure that can be detected and quantified.

Detect Pollutants: Quickly learn if you're exposed to harmful pollutants in your area and understand their health impacts.
Measure Exposure: Get guidance on tracking your pollution exposure during various activities and advice on making beneficial changes.
Maintain Improvements: Monitor air quality improvements and alerts you to unexpected pollution, whether from outdoor sources, malfunctioning air filters, or new indoor items.
ambient one tracks a comprehensive range of pollutants, including particulate matter (PM1.0, PM2.5, PM4.0, PM10), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), nitrogen oxides (NOx), formaldehyde (with dock), as well as temperature and humidity levels. This allows you to monitor the air quality in your environment and take informed actions to improve it.
To set up smart alerts, simply open the ambient one app and enable notifications. From there, you can view all alerts in the timeline tab. You can also set up automation rules with Home Assistant (guide coming soon!) to trigger actions in your smart home devices when certain air quality conditions are met.
Yes, ambient one supports multi-device connectivity. You can connect multiple sensors across different locations, allowing you to monitor the air quality in your home, office, and studio all in one app. This provides a comprehensive view of your environment and helps you make informed decisions to improve it.
Ambient one was designed with makers in mind. It can be used in the context of the home, workplace, or your own maker shed. It’s not waterproof as the sensor needs the air to be measured. Accuracy of particulate matter readings can be affected in very high humidity environments. We advise to place in a shaded space, as exposure to sun can affect your temperature and humidity readings.
